About Us

Welcome to the Cardboard Boat Museum in New Richmond, Ohio! We are the world’s only museum dedicated to cardboard boats. Our museum showcases the creativity and fun behind the annual Cardboard Boat Regatta, a beloved tradition in our community.

The Cardboard Boat Museum has a unique history. It was originally an old gas station transformed into a museum by Tom Lemon, Tim Young, Kenny Smith, and Ed Lemon on July 4, 2007. Their vision and dedication brought this one-of-a-kind museum to life, preserving the spirit and excitement of cardboard boat building.

At the Cardboard Boat Museum, you will find a variety of unique and impressive cardboard boats, each with its own story. These boats are crafted with care and ingenuity, demonstrating the endless possibilities of what can be created with cardboard.

Our mission is to preserve the history and spirit of the Cardboard Boat Regatta while inspiring creativity and community involvement. We believe building and racing cardboard boats brings people together and encourages innovative thinking.

Visitors to our museum can learn about the history of the regatta, see past winners, and get a close-up look at the amazing designs.

Thank you for visiting our website. We hope to see you at the museum soon!
